Casio ~ CTK-3200 Portable Keyboard {Review & Giveaway ~ US only}

CasioLogo

I reviewed a Casio keyboard last year on my other blog, which helped Davey learn to play the piano.  There is a lot of musical talent in our family, and Davey can now sound out pretty much any song he wants to on the keyboard or piano.  My younger brother is extremely talented and can play pretty much any instrument he tries.  He has been playing the alto sax and guitar for several years, has played the baritone for a couple of years, and can play other instruments if he had more access to them.  He can pick up an instrument and figure it out pretty easily.  We have had a piano since I was a kid, but my brother, being a teenager, stays up in his room most the time and has not played on the piano very much.  He recently asked me to see if I could get another keyboard for review so that he could start playing and could take it to college with him this fall.  He has had this keyboard about a month and has been sounding out music and composing his own music during this time. Casio sent us the CTK-3200 portable keyboard for [...]

Butch & Harold ~ Stickr Message Board {Review}

stickrmsg

Thank you Butch & Harold and Celebrity Trend Expert, Rachel Florio-Urso, for providing me with a Stickr Message Board, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions.   I love wall stickers, but I had never seen any quite so unique as the ones at Butch & Harold.  They have Stickr Frames to put photos in, Stickr Corners to put artwork or photos in, the Stickr Message Board I received, and so much more!  This Stickr Message Board is truly one of a kind.  It is a mirror and a message board in one.  It even comes with the marker and a holder for the marker that sticks on under the message board.   Putting it on the wall was simple, just peel and stick.  We did have one little problem though, our wall was a bit textured and we didn’t realize it.  So when we look in the mirror it is distorted a bit from the texture.  However, it looks really neat and I plan to leave it up anyway.  I put it on a narrow wall in my room just inside my door.   The marker holder sticks on, and folds out a little bit to [...]

Check out ProFlowers for Graduation Gifts! {Review}

ProFlowers

Thank you ProFlowers for providing me with a $65 gift certificate, free of charge, to purchase a product for review.  These are my own honest opinions. It’s that time of year again…  yes, that time to think about graduation gifts!  ProFlowers has so many great products for graduation gifts, not even just flowers — they also have some sweets and gift baskets!  I was given a gift certificate to choose an item from their graduation gifts.  Since I didn’t think my brother would really appreciate flowers for his graduation gift, I chose some flowers for my mom.  She loves Canterbury Bells but can never get them to grow here.  So I ordered the Canterbury Bells Garden in the Victorian Tin for her.  She absolutely loved it!   It looks great sitting on our kitchen table, and I am sure if my mom decides to repot them or try to plant them outside, we will find some great use for the pretty tin it is in!  This is a great gift idea if you want to give a lasting gift of flower.  A bouquet of flowers will soon need to be thrown away, but these are potted and as long as [...]

X-Doria Dash Folio iPad Mini Case review

20130416-222429.jpg

Thank you X-Doria and Max Borges Agency for sending me the Dash Folio iPad Mini Case, free of charge, for review. These are my own honest opinions. I am addicted to iPad Mini cases. I have tried out a few now, but I’m always eager to try out new ones. So I was excited when I got the chance to work with X-Doria on a review! They recently sent me their Dash Folio to try out. I love folio style cases and this one is very stylish with its multiple layer design. The outside is black with touches of gray, and the interior is gray. It has a hard case inside that the iPad Mini pops into, giving you added protection. It has the auto wake/sleep feature that has become a must-have for me in iPad cases. It has a magnet inside that makes your iPad Mini sleep when you close it and wake when you open it. This is a really great feature, especially if you don’t want to hear constant alerts from your email or Facebook. When I open it, it shows me all the alerts I missed. The stand is kind of unique on this case, or [...]

Pong Research keeps you safe while using your iPad Mini! {Review & Giveaway ~ US only}

PongResearch5

Thank you Pong Research and Max Borges Agency for providing me with an iPad Mini Case and Cover, free of charge, for review. These are my own honest opinions. I have become a little bit addicted to iPad Mini cases since I got my iPad Mini in January.  Since then, I started lining up iPad Mini cases for review, and I now have 7 different iPad Mini cases.  I use different styles for different things.  The folio style case is my favorite, and I have a few of them, but my new Pong Research case is by far my favorite! I received the iPad Mini Case and Cover about a week ago and have been using it almost all the time since then.  The instant I put it on my iPad Mini I fell in love with it and knew this was my new favorite case.  I have received 2 other cases during this time, and tried each of those out for a day, but then I immediately went back to the Pong Research case. First of all, just first impressions with putting on the iPad Mini Case and Cover, it is just really nice!  It has leather look and feel [...]

HearthSong review & giveaway (US only)

HearthSong1

As you know, I believe Davey may be autistic.  At his first evaluation they told me he was not on the spectrum but I think they overlooked something and need to get him reevaluated.  My mom, however, thinks he is just a wild child with behavior problems.  Either way —  I recently found out about hanging chairs being good for autistic kids or kids who have bad meltdowns, and I approached Hearth Song about reviewing their hanging chair and they sent me the HugglePod hanging chair for review.   One thing I have to say, but it is not really a huge deal, is that there are no hanging instructions included besides telling the consumer to have a professional install it, and to not use metal on metal to hang it because of the risk of metal shavings.  I knew we could hang it ourselves, as it couldn’t be much different from hanging our porch swing!  It did not come with any hanging hardware, we had to purchase that ourselves.  Going by what I read in other reviews, we decided to use a heavy duty eye hook in the ceiling joist, a carabiner in the loop on the swing, and [...]

TVStoreOnline.com review & giveaway (US only)

DSCN3873

My name is Lisa and I am a T-shirt-aholic!  I am always looking for great T-shirts to wear, so I was excited when TVStoreOnline.com agreed to work with me on a review and giveaway.  What really got me excited about this review is that they had t-shirts from some of my favorite movies and TV shows.  I’m not a very big movie/TV person, but I do have a few favorites, and Monty Python movies are at the top of my list.  I have never found Monty Python t-shirts anywhere, so I was almost jumping up and down with excitement when I saw this! I had a difficult time choosing between two shirts from my favorite 2 scenes in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  One was the scene where the plague had come to a town and the guy was going through with a cart yelling “Bring out your dead!” and a guy tries to get rid of someone who is not dead.  Ok, you probably have to watch the movie to know how funny this scene is, but it is one of my favorites!  So I considered this shirt:   Instead I chose one from my other favorite scene where [...]

Whiteboard Wall Decals by Dezign with a Z

DezignWithAZ2

When I moved in with my mom, we set up an art corner for Davey in the kitchen with his art desk and a shelf to hold his coloring books and paper.  Davey loves art, and he was wanting to hang every drawing he did on the refrigerator.  We had our fridge covered in art and it was getting pretty ridiculous.  So my mom got a science board project board from the store and we decorated it with stickers and hung it on the wall above Davey’s art desk to tape his pictures to it.  It looked okay, but kind of messy. I recently came across whiteboard wall decals by Dezign with a Z.  I knew this would be perfect above Davey’s art desk instead of that project board.  It would look much neater, and we could write or draw on it as well as hang his art.  We wanted something pretty big, the size of the project board we were using before.   We thought the framed ones were pretty cute.  So we chose the Whiteboard Frame Wall Decals and customized the size to 48×36 inches, with the Old School frame in brown.  Here it is on our wall with Davey’s [...]

Craft Cuts review & giveaway (US & Canada)

CraftCuts2

I have been redecorating Davey’s room and am always on the lookout for products that will look good in his room.  This all started a few months ago, when I decided I wanted to redecorate his room in an outer space theme.  I started getting review products on my other blog for his room, but then the decision to move came up and that put a halt on his room.  Now that we’re all settled in at our new home it was time to get busy!  I’ve recently painted his room and put up space decals and still have a few more things to do in there. When I came across Craft Cuts and their painted wooden letters, I knew this would be a perfect finishing touch in Davey’s room!  Davey can spell his name and he thinks it is so cool to have his name up in his room.  I had some decals of his name at our old house but couldn’t bring those with me since they were not reusable.  The wooden painted letters are so much better than decals, I think!  If we move again I can easily take them with  me, and the 3D effect of [...]
