Luv Chicken ~ Cute and Stylish Booster Seat {Review}

LuvChicken_logo_large

Thank you Luv Chicken and Celebrity Trend Expert, Rachel Florio-Urso, for providing me with a booster cushion, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions. I had Davey in a high chair or feeding seat actually until just recently, even though he just turned 4.  My mom kept insisting he is too old for that so I finally gave in and stopped using them.  The problem is, he’s not quite tall enough to sit in a chair at the table.  He normally sits on a bar stool we keep at the table so he will be the right height, but he is not very careful and I am always worried he is going to fall off that bar stool with his wiggling and squirming around. Luv Chicken had the perfect solution!  They make booster cushions for kids.  It is a square cushion, about 3 inches thick, which just sits in the chair seat, putting your child at a good height to eat at the table.  They have original size cushions and the new mini cushions.  We chose the Pirates Mini cushion for review. The Pirates Mini cushion has a cute treasure map design, with blue stripes around the [...]

Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check-Up {Review & Giveaway ~ US & Canada}

DocMcStuffins

Thank you Disney Junior and Click Communications for providing me with Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check-Up DVD, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions.     Before hearing about this DVD, I had only heard of Doc McStuffins from a blogger friend a few months ago who was looking for Doc McStuffins products for a young family member for Christmas.  We don’t have cable, and pretty much only watch TV and movies on our streaming device, which means we don’t get to watch any current shows out there.  When I got the press release and announcement for Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check-Up it really looked like something Davey would like, so I requested it.  I have to say this has been the best review movie we have owned!  Davey stopped watching his other favorite shoes and watches almost nothing but Doc McStuffins now!  He goes back and forth between this and another Disney Junior movie we recently got for review and watches nothing else. I love that Doc McStuffins is educational.  Davey is learning about playing doctor and about what to do when he is sick or hurt.  Doc McStuffins teaches kids in such [...]

Kidaroo Crew ~ The best way to label your child’s sippy cup! {Review}

Kidaroocrew

Thank you Kidaroo Crew and Celebrity Trend Expert, Rachel Florio-Urso, for providing me with Write On SippyGrabs and Custom Snugaroos, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions. While Davey has not had many situations where his sippy cup needed to be labeled so far in his life, he will be starting preschool this fall and I was excited to try out some Kidaroo Crew sippy cup labels for review.  Kidaroo Crew offers write-on and custom bands that go around your child’s sippy cup.  We received both, the Write On SippyGrab KoalaLabels: and the Custom Snugaroos KoalaLabels: These have a sports theme which will appeal to most little boys.  Even though Davey doesn’t know much about sports, he gets excited about any kind of ball and knows what the different types of balls are, so he was pretty excited when he saw these!  The Snugaroos have his name already on them, and I was happy to see that his full name would fit on them: The SippyGrab are a write-on kind, which makes them a little less permanent, which would be great if you have multiple kids, or want to use them for future kids.  You can write on [...]

Bailey Berry ~ Cute kids shoes {Review}

BaileyBerry2

 Thank you Bailey Berry and Celebrity Trend Expert, Rachel Florio-Urso, for providing me with Navy BBStars Kids’ Shoes, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions.   Davey usually only has one pair of shoes each season, but as he gets older he is getting more and more rough on his shoes.  And now that we live in a house with a nice yard he plays outside and gets his shoes filthy, which means more washing and more wear and tear.  So I was excited to get to try out Bailey Berry shoes for him!  These are made of recycled materials which can be hosed down or rinsed in the sink when Davey gets them dirty. We received the Navy BBStars Kids’ Shoes, which came with a mesh shoe bag, a bracelet, and 2 reversible straps that can be interchanged with the ones already on the shoes.  Davey loves that he can change the look of his shoes however he wants!   I went by the sizing chart, just comparing the US size to the European sizing that another brand he wears uses, and these were actually just a little big when we got them.  But Davey has [...]

ThomasAndFriends

Thank you Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment for providing me with a Thomas & Friends: Railway Mischief DVD, free of charge, for review. TruKid review & giveaway (US only)

TruKid

Thank you TruKid for providing me with Silly Shampoo and Sunny Days Sunscreen, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions. I have always loved trying all natural products for Davey, but I will admit I don’t use all natural products with him on a regular basis.  Let’s face it, it can be expensive to go all natural or organic with everything!  So I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about TruKid and saw their products are all natural and are not too expensive for all natural products! Ok, they are more expensive than the not-all-natural brands you find in the store, but not by too much and it is worth it just to know that what you are putting in your child’s hair or on their body is not harmful in any way.  When I think about how little shampoo I use in Davey’s hair and the fact that he generally does not bathe every single day, $8.99 is not too much to pay for all natural shampoo.  When I think about how chemical-filled sunscreen makes Davey break out if I don’t get it completely scrubbed off that night, it is worth it to me to [...]

Umi Shoes review & giveaway (US only)

UmiShoes1

It’s finally Spring, even if it may not feel like it!  I’ve been working on getting Davey’s spring clothes, and he of course needed some sandals.  After working with Umi Shoes on my other blog a few times, I have fallen in love with their shoes and Davey loves them too!  He can’t stand it when I buy him a pair of cheap shoes from the local store.  It has to be Umi, or nothing at all! Umi recently sent me a pair of sandals for review.  I chose the Laren in Cocoa Multi color.  It comes in two other colors as well, but Davey wears a lot of brown, so cocoa multi was perfect for him. To be honest, it was a struggle at first to get Davey to wear these shoes.  He does not like change at all and wanted to keep wearing his winter Umi shoes.  We had this problem when our dog chewed up another pair of Umi Shoes and he had to wear another pair of shoes we had until I could order some in the exact same style from Umi; it was a nightmare!  So while the weather has been warmer here these past [...]

HearthSong review & giveaway (US only)

HearthSong1

As you know, I believe Davey may be autistic.  At his first evaluation they told me he was not on the spectrum but I think they overlooked something and need to get him reevaluated.  My mom, however, thinks he is just a wild child with behavior problems.  Either way —  I recently found out about hanging chairs being good for autistic kids or kids who have bad meltdowns, and I approached Hearth Song about reviewing their hanging chair and they sent me the HugglePod hanging chair for review.   One thing I have to say, but it is not really a huge deal, is that there are no hanging instructions included besides telling the consumer to have a professional install it, and to not use metal on metal to hang it because of the risk of metal shavings.  I knew we could hang it ourselves, as it couldn’t be much different from hanging our porch swing!  It did not come with any hanging hardware, we had to purchase that ourselves.  Going by what I read in other reviews, we decided to use a heavy duty eye hook in the ceiling joist, a carabiner in the loop on the swing, and [...]

Whiteboard Wall Decals by Dezign with a Z

DezignWithAZ2

When I moved in with my mom, we set up an art corner for Davey in the kitchen with his art desk and a shelf to hold his coloring books and paper.  Davey loves art, and he was wanting to hang every drawing he did on the refrigerator.  We had our fridge covered in art and it was getting pretty ridiculous.  So my mom got a science board project board from the store and we decorated it with stickers and hung it on the wall above Davey’s art desk to tape his pictures to it.  It looked okay, but kind of messy. I recently came across whiteboard wall decals by Dezign with a Z.  I knew this would be perfect above Davey’s art desk instead of that project board.  It would look much neater, and we could write or draw on it as well as hang his art.  We wanted something pretty big, the size of the project board we were using before.   We thought the framed ones were pretty cute.  So we chose the Whiteboard Frame Wall Decals and customized the size to 48×36 inches, with the Old School frame in brown.  Here it is on our wall with Davey’s [...]

Craft Cuts review & giveaway (US & Canada)

CraftCuts2

I have been redecorating Davey’s room and am always on the lookout for products that will look good in his room.  This all started a few months ago, when I decided I wanted to redecorate his room in an outer space theme.  I started getting review products on my other blog for his room, but then the decision to move came up and that put a halt on his room.  Now that we’re all settled in at our new home it was time to get busy!  I’ve recently painted his room and put up space decals and still have a few more things to do in there. When I came across Craft Cuts and their painted wooden letters, I knew this would be a perfect finishing touch in Davey’s room!  Davey can spell his name and he thinks it is so cool to have his name up in his room.  I had some decals of his name at our old house but couldn’t bring those with me since they were not reusable.  The wooden painted letters are so much better than decals, I think!  If we move again I can easily take them with  me, and the 3D effect of [...]
